Work has recently begun to deliver on one of WEPHREN’s key priority actions – to develop guidance for conducting ethical health research in prisons.
Aim: This guidance is designed to support those who plan, conduct, approve, or evaluate health research in adult prison settings. This will supplement, not supersede, existing guidance on research ethics and on how to conduct high quality research, and identify specific considerations when approaching health research conducted in a prison setting. This guidance aims to prompt reflection and highlight key areas for consideration in a systematic way.
