The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has developed guidance for His Majesty’s Prisons (HMPs) and other adult prison settings to help prevent infections and reduce infection-related harms.
The guidance draws on the best available evidence to support those working in prisons to control and manage infection-related risks while balancing other physical and operational considerations. It provides clear recommendations on the actions required to maintain safe and healthy prison environments and should be used alongside other relevant evidence-based guidance for prison settings.
A copy of the guidance is available here: Infection prevention and control guidelines for adult prisons - GOV.UK
A training webinar was held to provide an overview of the key principles of the guidance, explain how it can be applied in prison settings, and highlight the resources available to support implementation.
