The Health and Justice team at UKHSA are running two webinars to support the publication of the Multi-agency plan for incidents and outbreaks of communicable diseases in secure settings in England guidance (Management of incidents and outbreaks of communicable disease in secure settings. - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)). These webinars aim to bring together stakeholders from across a wide range of professions and settings to increase awareness of outbreak management processes in secure settings. The first is aimed at professionals working in secure settings in the UK and will have a focus on England and Wales, whilst the second is aimed at an international audience. There will be a variety of speakers during both events, bringing their own experience of managing outbreaks in prisons, immigration removal centers, and the children and young people secure estate. 

The intended audience for both events is people working in secure settings, healthcare professionals with an interest in prison health, public health professionals working in government agencies, health systems or Non-governmental organisations.

National Outbreak Management in Secure Settings webinar

The aims of the national event are to promote the use of the newly published guidance and thereby increase awareness of outbreak management processes in the UK, highlight best practice, increase collaborative working and to highlight the key considerations one should take when managing outbreaks across different types of secure setting.

International Outbreak Management Webinar:

When: 9th December 14:00- 15:00

Where: MS Teams  

The aims of the international webinar are to work with other countries to increase awareness of the common challenges regarding outbreak management of infectious diseases in secure settings, to share what best practice in England looks like by promoting the newly published guidance and to encourage collaborative working between agencies.
